Comply has four different user roles or permission/access levels.  These roles are listed below, including the permissions of each role.  Each user may only have one role in the Comply software.


Basic User - Appropriate role for most end users (teachers, NTPEs, support staff, etc.).  Basic Users may…

  • View a list of compliance items that they are responsible for completing
  • View available request items
  • Submit compliance items and/or request items for approval, including ability to upload documents and complete questionnaires (when appropriate)


Limited Supervisor User - Appropriate role for supervisors that need a limited view of items. Limited Supervisors typically include maintenance supervisors, food service supervisors, bus driver supervisors, etc. Limited Supervisors can only view items that they are connected to as the owner, person of contact, approver or watcher.

Admin User / Portal Manager – Appropriate role for users that will manage the portal and/or need access to all users and items  Administrative Users / Portal Managers may…

  • Register/Onboard users
  • Manage users, groups, questionnaires, tags  
  • Build compliance items and assign end users
  • Build request items
  • Build questionnaires
  • Approve submissions by end users
  • Archive compliance items
  • View a list of compliance items that they are responsible for completing
  • View available request items
  • Submit compliance items and/or request items for approval, including ability to upload documents and complete questionnaires (when appropriate)
